Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BuiltOnJev at builtonjev.com (the "Service"). By using the Service — submitting a link, upvoting, or bidding — you agree to them. Questions: support@builtonjev.com.

1. The service

BuiltOnJev is an independent community product-discovery site with two deliberately separate surfaces: a free directory of projects built with Jev, ranked by community upvotes, and a paid spotlight (the homepage sidebar and the leaderboard) that is openly pay-to-rank. BuiltOnJev is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TypeSafe AI.

2. Listings and submissions

• · You may only submit a link — site, GitHub repo, X post, or video — that you own or have the right to submit.
• · Free submissions are reviewed by Jev, an automated reviewer. Dead links, pure marketing pages, and non-Jev content can be turned away. We may also remove any listing at our discretion, for example if it breaks the content rules below or the linked page turns into something the rules don't allow.
• · A link can only be listed once. Card titles, descriptions, and images are read from the linked page's public metadata at submission (or payment) time — the owner of that page is responsible for what it says.
• · Submitting and listing in the directory is free, forever.

3. Community upvotes

• · Directory ranking is upvotes and nothing else. Anyone can upvote without an account, one vote per person per product; duplicates are removed automatically (we hash your IP and browser signature for this — see the privacy policy).
• · Money never moves a directory rank. Automated or mass voting is not allowed, and we may drop votes we have reason to believe are fake.

4. Spotlight bids and payments

• · The spotlight is the Service's only paid surface, and every paid rank is labeled as such. Bidding means pasting a product link and paying: one-time bids in whole US dollars, from $5 up to $999,999, in steps of $5.
• · Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake as merchant of record — taxes are handled on their side, and we never see your card.
• · A listing joins the board the moment payment clears. It holds its rank until someone strictly outbids it, then slides down — it never falls off the board, and ranks don't expire.
• · A bid buys visibility at a moment in time. It is not a purchase of traffic, clicks, placement guarantees, or endorsement.

5. Refunds

• · Bids are non-refundable.
• · The one exception: if we take a listing down for being fraudulent or breaking the content rules, its bid is refunded. The refunded amount comes off that listing's total and the board re-ranks.
• · If you believe a charge was unauthorized or made in error, email support@builtonjev.com with the order reference from your receipt.
• · Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law that applies to you.

6. Acceptable use

The following are not allowed anywhere on the Service — in submissions, bids, votes, or any other interaction:

• · adult or sexually explicit content;
• · scams, malware, or phishing;
• · gambling;
• · chat or group invite links;
• · URL shorteners;
• · links you don't own or have the right to promote, or impersonating another person or product.

We may remove listings that break these rules and refund their bids as described in section 5.

7. Intellectual property

The Service's name, design, and text belong to the BuiltOnJev team. "Jev" and "TypeSafe AI" are the property of TypeSafe AI; BuiltOnJev is an independent community project, not an official channel of TypeSafe AI. Listed projects belong to their owners — a listing or a bid transfers no rights, and we don't claim ownership of the things you link to.

8. Disclaimers

• · The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
• · Cost and latency numbers quoted in listings come from the projects' authors; we don't independently verify them.
• · A high spotlight rank means someone paid for it — nothing more. It is not an endorsement by us or by anyone.
• · Listings describe third-party sites we don't control; we aren't responsible for their content or what happens after you leave the Service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the BuiltOnJev team is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is capped at the total amount you paid us through the Service.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the Service evolves; the "Last updated" date changes when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Contact: support@builtonjev.com.
